ISO 14001:2026 is here
The revised standard has been published. ISO 14001:2026 responds to growing pressure on organisations to deliver measurable, credible environmental action and it raises the bar on what a well-functioning Environmental Management System (EMS) looks like in practice.
Organisations certified to the 2015 version must transition by May 2029.

ISO 14001 certification already helps organisations cut waste, meet compliance obligations, and maintain access to supply chains that demand credible environmental credentials. The 2026 update strengthens all of that, but it also asks organisations to demonstrate genuine integration, not just documentation. ISO/IEC 42001 The new standard for AI governance
AI is no longer a future consideration, it's already embedded in customer service, analytics, procurement, cybersecurity, and everyday business decision-making. And with that rapid adoption comes growing pressure to demonstrate that AI is being used responsibly.
Enter ISO/IEC 42001 - the world's first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).
What is it? ISO 42001 gives organisations a structured framework to govern AI responsibly. It covers risk management, ethical use, transparency, human oversight, data governance, and accountability and it integrates easily with standards you may already hold, like ISO 9001, ISO 27001, or ISO 14001.
Where is it now? Published in late 2023, the standard is still in early adoption globally estimated certifications sit between 200–350 organisations worldwide. But growth is accelerating fast, led by technology firms, cybersecurity providers, SaaS businesses, and government suppliers across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
In Australia, uptake is emerging particularly among fintech, consulting, and government supply chain businesses.
Why does it matter? The same pattern we saw with ISO 27001 in cybersecurity is beginning to repeat itself. What starts as a voluntary trust signal quickly becomes an enterprise procurement expectation and eventually a regulatory baseline.
What to do now: If your business develops, uses, or is significantly impacted by AI systems, now is the time to start understanding what ISO 42001 would mean for your operations. Early movers will have a genuine advantage.

Flexible shifts attract 2,700 applicants for just five roles!
Perth building firm Indigo Commercial received over 2,700 applications after advertising labourer positions with six-hour, school-friendly shifts. CEO Tarrsha Watkins designed the model after becoming a parent herself, frustrated by an industry that talks about attracting women but doesn't change its conditions.
The response went well beyond mums. Applicants included single dads, first responder families, FIFO households, and retirees wanting to return part-time. Watkins personally responded to 1,600 of them.
She says the shorter shifts don't hurt productivity and aren't as complicated to manage as people assume. Her goal is simple: make flexible hours in construction as normal as the 10-hour day. Read more>>
